Leviticus 26 and 27:
Leviticus 26-27 is the ending of the law school that is Leviticus. While an ending to a book, these chapters are also a transition in the middle of Moses’ journey to get the Israelites to the Promised Land. The Israelites are leaving the cocoon of Mount Sinai and will have to face the world. Will they remember God’s instructions and obey or will they feel the consequences of disobedience?
HAYLEY’S BIBLE BENDER:
My takeaway from today’s episode is the path God always provides us to get home. While a good portion of these verses in today’s episode seemed harsh or terrifying, especially when thinking of Israel’s less-than-stellar track record of disobedience, it is comforting to know God is faithful. He will remember his covenant with Jacob and Isaac and Abraham. He will always be our God and we His people.
Before you think of yourself better than the Israelites, remember we are just as disobedient and sinful. Thank God his covenant is based on his faithfulness instead of mine.
What was your Bible bender from Leviticus 26 or 27? Did you learn anything new?
