Leviticus 23 and 24:
In this Leviticus 23, we focus on ritual feasts–a focus on when and how to celebrate God’s holy times. Leviticus has seven holy days outlined in it. As you will see in the chart below (Feasts and Festivals in the Bible) there are 4 rituals the nation partook in. Each one has a different reasoning of remembrance associated with it. God used these feasts and ceremonies to remind the Israelites of how he provided for them and continues to provide. He covers everything from the grand exodus from Egypt to the harvest to the law, which meant he could dwell with his people.
HAYLEY’S BIBLE BENDER:
My takeaway from today’s episode was the importance of the Sabbath. Do I revere Sunday as my Sabbath day of rest? How can I make my Sunday less of a holiday and more of a holy day? It will be something I ponder and work to implement more in my future.
What was your Bible bender from Leviticus 23 or 24? Did you learn anything new?
VERSES MENTIONED:
- Leviticus 24
- Matthew 5:38-48
