Genesis 33
Our focus in Genesis 33 turns from Jacob to his family in which God says will become a promised nation. We discuss the reconciliation between brothers – a huge moment.
HAYLEY’S BIBLE BENDER:
Today’s Bible bender for me was when Jacob was defenseless on his way to reconnect with Esau. God gave him a vision of angels. Why is that significant?
Susan says it like this, ” Angels meet us where, when, and how we need them. Angels meet us where we are- God know our journeys and will meet us on the road. Angels meet us when we need them- God knows when we, like Jacob, are defenseless. Angels meet us how we need at the time-in Jacob’s first vision the angels were messengers. In this vision, the angels are warriors.”
I love this display of angels and how God is with us when, where, and how we need him to cover us. I can let my human anxiety and worry cloud this fact from my mind and heart in the moment–so reminders throughout the Bible are so welcome!
What did you learn from Genesis 33? Did you have a Bible bender?
